LET A THOUSAND FLOWERS BLOOM!
“The present cuts in funding for music and the arts is an opportunity and Lord Mawson with a team of professional musicians and artists including Michael Bochmann and Frank Creber are leading the way in East London. The ambition of the Water City Festival is to create an international festival in East London with a reputation and longevity comparable to the Edinburgh Festival as one piece of the long term legacy of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.”
Peterborough Water City Festival
Held over the weekend of the 12th and 13th May, the free music festival worked with communities, schools and musical performers from across the city to inspire them to play and to perform.
This was the first ever Peterborough Water City Festival and it was such a success that we aim to establish it as an annual cultural event. As the festival grows in future years Peterborough WCF will promote the wealth of musical talent in the city and allow people to learn by working and playing together.
The festival was been organised by The Water City Festival, which is headed by Lord Mawson OBE and internationally-acclaimed virtuoso violinist Michael Bochmann, in conjunction with Peterborough City Council and St John’s Development CIC.
